I actually witnessed the construction of this set during one of my frequent 'midnight runs' when we used to ride our ATVs in the desert during the middle of the night (to avoid the heat). Anyway, some cool pics if you follow the links included in the PE location.

Though I still haven't decided if I actually liked Donnie Darko or not, the theatre where Frank the Rabbit makes his first appearance is totally worth checking out:
