Running PublicEarth's European Operations

I've been involved with PublicEarth since April '08 and have created PublicEarth's substantial network of (initially) UK partners by getting out there and making contact with as many people as I can.

It's been great to see the fantastic reception that the whole PublicEarth project has had from a huge variety of different special interest groups - anything from historic locations through to caravanning, nature and outdoor activities such as mountain biking.

We've learnt a lot in the process regarding the key things partners like about PublicEarth - and also a number of things they didn't like, which we've changed as a result!

We're still learning all the time - but it's my job to find new partners, make them happy and work as closely as we can with them at PublicEarth.

Hi Andy

Yup - I saw a comment on Peter Batty's blog (I used to work with Peter at SW...).

Good luck.

Everything looks be to be back up

The Google maps API seems to have gradually recovered this morning - so I'm pleased to say our site appears to back running normally too!

We hope you enjoy your experience on our brand new site

Google Maps API down

Those of you using the site this morning UK time may be finding that whilst the site itself is working perfectly, few or no maps are being displayed. This appears to be an issue with the Google Maps API which is affecting not just us but lots of other sites using Google maps too.

Apologies to those of you keen to get your first view of the PublicEarth experience - but we hope that everything will be back to normal shortly.

We'll post again when everything is back up.
