Coming Soon

We're all encouraged and excited by the positive feedback we've received from visitors to the new PublicEarth.com web site, but the excitement (read: "work") for the engineering team has only just begun. We'll be hard at work over the coming weeks to improve PublicEarth to make sure it's your online destination for all those offline destinations.

Here's a sneak peek at what we've got our sights set on:

* The PublicEarth API - Interested in building your own mashups and applications using PublicEarth's vast knowledge base of interesting and fun locations? Our API will let you do that.

* Improved Search - We want to make it easy to find what you're looking for on PublicEarth. Right now, search is tightly tied to the map. We'll be loosening those ties so that you don't have to know ahead of time that Disneyland is in Anaheim, not Los Angeles (in the meantime, hopefully that little geographic tidbit helps).

* GPS Support - Our beta testers will tell you that we've had pretty good support for getting PublicEarth places on and off GPS devices like Garmin and TomTom, but from our perspective it wasn't good enough. We'll be reintroducing GPS support so that you've got something to throw on that little box under the Christmas tree (or menorah) this holiday season.***

* The PublicEarth iPhone App - Coming soon to an App Store near you!

Remember, this is a team effort. Our site is only as good as our membership, so if you like all the great destinations PublicEarth has to offer, be sure to post your own favorite places to PublicEarth. Give a little, get a lot.
